Mission Statement of The Well SGV
We exist to multiply followers of Jesus, rooted in the gospel, who worship, walk and witness to God’s glory.
Our Values
Gospel-Centered – Everything we do is motivated and driven by the power of the gospel. Through the finished work of Jesus, we are freed to turn from our idols and serve the living God and orient our lives around the life, way and mission of Jesus. The gospel fuels our worship and obedience to make much of Jesus.
Disciple-making culture – We seek to see an authentic disciple-making culture. Disciple-making is not simply a strategy or program but the primary mission and culture of the church. We introduce people to Jesus and help each other follow Jesus. Our lives are given to glorify God, become more like Christ, and serve His Kingdom.
Word of God – The Word of God is the very authority, rule of faith and life that we abide by. The Word reveals the unfolding story of God’s glory in the gospel and our need for salvation in Christ. The Word shows us now how to live our lives that reflect God’s glory and equips us to serve His Kingdom.
Kingdom Prayer – Apart from Jesus, we can do nothing, but through dependent prayer upon God, we will see God’s Kingdom advance. We seek to be a praying church that boldly asks God to bring His Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. While we have been given the responsibility to make disciples, we lack the ability. Only God brings about the establishment of His Kingdom on earth and prayer is the ordained means God has chosen to bring about His Kingdom.
Community – We covenant together as the people of God to walk together in Christ-centered community. Through this community, we learn to love and serve, encourage and challenge and share our life’s joys and struggles. We learn to pray for and with one another and become an extension of God’s Kingdom in the world together.
Multiplication – We seek to make disciples who make disciples and be a church that plants churches. Life is too short, the glory of God is too great, and the great commission to make disciples too urgent to maintain. We will exercise generosity to this end.
